Questions owners ask
Is claiming my listing free?
Yes. Claiming is free. A free claim lets you correct your basic details (name, address, phone, website), respond to reports about your listing, and get "Owner verified" status once we confirm you.
How do you confirm I own or run the business?
You can verify with an email address at your business website's domain (we send a 6-digit code), with a phone call to the number on your listing, or by sending documents such as a business license or state registration. A person on our team reviews every claim, usually within one business day.
Can I pay to raise my check score?
No. The score measures how much independent, checkable information exists about a listing: data sources, phone, address, a working website, domain age and owner verification. Paid plans never change it. Keeping your details accurate and verifying ownership are the ways to improve it. See the methodology page for the exact points.
Where does my listing information come from?
Listings come from the Overture Maps Foundation open places dataset, which combines data from contributors such as Meta, Microsoft, Foursquare and BrightQuery. We add live checks of your website and domain registration records. Once you are verified, your corrections are applied to your listing.
Can I get my business shown first?
Yes. The top spot puts your business first on your town's page for your kind of business, marked "Sponsored". Send us your info on the advertise page and we'll set it up. Claiming your listing stays free.
Can I have my listing corrected or removed?
Yes. Anyone can report wrong information, and owners can request removal on our removal page. Requests sent from an email address at the business's own domain are the quickest to confirm.
